I feel like this look is about as classic to my typical style as you can get. Top knot, lipstick, pink, lots of jewelry, overall super girly and preppy. As much as I like to experiment and try new things, sometimes it is nice to stick with what you know too. And a button-down under a sweater with a skirt and a big necklace is second nature for me.
While I love that we have all of the season here in North Carolina, I have a love/hate relationship with our weather. The past few days it has been absolutely beautiful here. I mean 70 degrees, warm wind, and sunny. While I have loved the warmth, it is just going to be that much harder when it inevitably gets cold again. However, I am trying to enjoy this glimpse of spring while I can!
Hello all! So my biggest struggle in the winter is staying warm while also staying cute. My immediate reaction is to throw on the biggest sweater in my closet, some boots, and be done. But that gets boring really quickly and is definitely not work appropriate.
As much as I love layering, there are some pitfalls that I like to avoid. The first one is that I don’t want to look like the Michelin man and not be able to move my arms. The other one is that I still want to feel cute and feminine, while also staying warm. With a wool mini-skirt and a thick but girly sweater are the perfect way to avoid these issues.
Hello all! While Halloween is not one of my favorite holidays, I have finally found a costume that I love to wear and is perfect for Halloween…Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. This outfit is so easy to put together with things you already have in your closet and it fits well into my style. I think what I don’t like about wearing a costume is because it makes me feel uncomfortable. This outfit though, is almost something that I would wear on a regular day so I still feel comfortable and fabulous even though I’m wearing a costume. I hope you had a fabulous Halloween and Happy November!
Hello all! Happy weekend! It is still early here because I’m writing this in advance to publish later, but I have lots going on today! I’m starting off this morning with one of my new favorite activities, the Farmer’s Market! I love being able to support local farmers, plus I love the food. I’ve been a couple of weeks in a row and the hand pie lady (no surprise there since I get one every time) and the tomato people now recognize me! It feels like I am finally a regular in a town I’ve lived in my whole life!
After the Farmer’s Market, I am off to work at the Gallery. I am so excited about the show because it is finally all hung and it looks amazing! I want to buy it all for myself! But it is so exciting to be able to walk in every morning and say I did this. I could not be more excited about this job and this opportunity!
Finally, my parents are fabulous and are delivering the last bit of my furniture to my apartment! Now all I have to do is finish getting everything set up and decorate! I am loving the apartment so far and I will definitely be posting more about it once it is all set up.
Well, enough about that for now, let’s talk about clothes for a minute, this is a fashion blog after all! It has been pleasantly cool the past couple of days, which has been the perfect chance for me to start experimenting with layering and transitional pieces. I love wearing a chambray or a jean jacket as an outer layer with fun patterns underneath it. It just adds an extra dimension and the sparkly shoes were the perfect finishing touch. Until next time, XO
Hello all! I hope your week has gotten off to a great start! As you have probably seen from my snap story, I have been having a blast pet sitting for one of my favorite puppies Maddie. Add me on snapchat at Taylor Curry or tcurry16 for tons of puppy pictures!
Anyways, my week has gotten off to a fun start and I am so excited about this outfit. Classy, girly, and sparkly are my main three goals when putting together any outfit and this outfit definitely fits that criteria. To me, there is nothing classier than a crispy button-down. Now granted, my button-down could stand to be ironed and made a little crisper, but you get the idea! There is just something about a button-down that immediately feels classy and sophisticated to me.
Sparkles are typically easy for me. I love jewelry and have quite a large collection of sparkly jewelry and other accessories. However, today I want to try something a little different. I’ve layered with this necklace before, but only with smaller silver necklaces, never with something as big as this flower necklace. What I love about this look is that the emphasis is taken away from the pearls and there is a whole new layer to the flower necklace. I will definitely be experimenting with layering statement necklaces soon!
The final aspect of this outfit was the girly-ness. Girly is easy for me because I love pink. With this outfit, I didn’t want the pink to be the focus, but rather just an additional statement. Matching the pink of the necklace with my shoes and purse was the perfect way to tie everything together and not only complete the look, but also add that girly pop I was looking for. Until next time, XO
Happy Friday everyone! What a crazy week! I am definitely ready for a quiet, relaxing weekend. Before we get to the relaxing though, let’s talk about stripes and J.Crew.
Today is National Stripe Day, per J.Crew, and I couldn’t be more excited. First of all, I love stripes. Just in general, but also mixing different striped pieces and mixing stripes with different patterns. Stripes are just one of those classic details that give a little elegance and Parisian chic to any outfit- what’s not to love about that?!
I am also excited about today because I love J.Crew. Before you ask, no J.Crew is not paying me to say this, they aren’t paying me at all. I genuinely love the J.Crew brand and their clothes.
I started a few years ago just buying pieces from J.Crew here and there. Now, it seems like my whole closet is from there! Their clothes are great quality and pretty reasonable priced. Plus they have incredible sales…if you are a student and not using the student discount, you are missing out! It also doesn’t hurt that their clothes are so cute and right up my aesthetic alley.
The other thing I love about J.Crew is the people who work there. They are always nice and helpful, but I also feel like I have built relationships with these women over our mutual love of the J.Crew brand. Favorite store to shop at by far! Until next time, XO
