Finding My Motivation

Finding My Motivation

Because of the pandemic and quarantine, I have had to deal with a lot of new issues that were never factors before (as I’m sure all of you have as well). One of the biggest issues has been motivation, or in my case, lack of motivation. I would normally describe myself as a highly motivated person. I like to be busy, I like to get things done, and I am a big plan kind of person. But something about the pandemic has changed all of that. These days, I struggle to get out of bed and seem to be in a creative rut in all aspects of my life- from blogging to something as simple as putting together an outfit.

Finding My Motivation

I’m not a big resolution person, but this year, I decided that my goal in 2021 is to find my motivation again. So far, it has not been easy. Especially with everything that happened in DC in January, most days it feels easier to just pull the covers over my head and go back to sleep. But that’s not me. While finding all of that creativity and motivation again is not going to be easy, I’m trying to break it up into smaller steps that I not only look forward to and enjoy but are also more achievable.

Finding My Motivation

My first step has been super fun and I can’t wait to see where it takes me- it has been putting together full, accessorized outfits at least three times a week no matter if I have a Zoom meeting or not. Plus, I’m not limiting myself with my outfits, but wearing whatever makes me feel happy. Even if it is the biggest, sparkliest necklace I have with a headband and a patterned turtleneck and a patterned coat. Does it all work at first glance? Who cares! I’m happy and I love it.

Until next time, T

Headband, Turtleneck: similar here, Necklace: similar here, Coat: J.Crew from last year but same style here, Jeans, Shoes: same style, similar color here.

Purse: So my purse has a bit of a story and is now my new favorite accessory. My dad was in the navy when he was young. There is a local place in Pinehurst that takes military uniforms and turns them into purses and bags and other things. My dad took his two dress uniforms and had them made into matching purses for me and my sister and this is the final product! I am obsessed with it and like having a piece of my family history with me. The store was actually on Shark Tank a couple of years ago and has some other really cool bags! If you end up buying anything, make sure to tag me or comment! I want to see what everyone else ends up getting too!
