Winter Whites and Sweet Treats

Can you believe it’s already February?! I sure can’t Valentine’s Day is already next week which means my birthday is just around the corner! So, I am not a huge Valentine’s Day fan, I actually think it is kind of silly. However, it does give me the perfect excuse to bake and wear some red and pink. So let’s talk about the clothes first.

Let’s be honest, I never shy away from pink but normally I stick with pale pink over anything else. Valentine’s Day though is the perfect excuse to wear brighter pinks and incorporate some reds in your wardrobe as well.

Especially in the winter, bright colors are a wonderful juxtaposition against white. The white will emphasize your colors without making them seem over the top and keep your outfit fun but also season appropriate.

With winter white, it is also very easy to incorporate bold accessories. If I am already wearing a bright color, I like to keep my palette pretty consistent. I love how this pom pom adds an extra oomph of color and texture.

So other than an excuse to wear pink, Valentine’s Day is also the perfect excuse to eat chocolate, or in my case bake it! So I’m doing something a little bit different on Lefty Baking Life in honor of the holiday. For the next week or so you can choose between three different, yummy, chocolate-filled goodies to order.

Your three choices of baked goods are raspberry chocolate bars (the first picture above), raspberry cream cheese brownies (the picture directly above), or shortbread sandwiches with chocolate ganache. So if you want some, make sure to comment below, message me in some way, or head over to Lefty Baking Life! Until next time…
