After yesterday’s post, you saw a a little glimpse of this fabulous jumpsuit. I am so obsessed with it, that I thought it warranted it’s own post. So here ya go!

Jumpsuits, especially a boldly graphic one, are intimidating. No one can deny that. And they can be hard to wear too. You are basically wearing a onesie. If it doesn’t fit right, things can get awkward and uncomfortable.

I am definitely a proponent of trying on clothes before buying them, but I think it is absolutely vital with a jumpsuit. You want to make sure it fits right everywhere. You need enough fabric so nothing is pulling, but you don’t want too much fabric.

I know wearing a polka dot jumpsuit feels intimidating and scary, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s just like wearing a maxi dress or any other graphic piece. But, here are a few tips to help you tone down your jumpsuit and make it more approachable.

For the jumpsuit itself, choose either a pattern or a color. It will be easier to handle if it only has one. Then, keep the rest of your accessories fairly neutral. You will notice that for once, I’m not wearing really loud jewelry. In this outfit, the jumpsuit is the loud piece, so everything else can be softer.

Then, break up all that pattern with another layer. My jean jacket was perfect for this because it isn’t too bold and toned down the top half of my look. All pattern with no distraction can feel overwhelming…don’t get overwhelmed.

Finally, if you are a high-heel lover like me, add some nude wedges or a black pump. It will give you that extra boost of confidence you need to strut your stuff in your fabulous jumpsuit. Until next time…
