Is the Naked Trend Ever Going Away?

There are few events I love more than a red carpet. It is always exciting to see new trends and see how people are putting looks together. The VMA Red Carpet is normally filled with the younger generation pushing the boundaries of fashion. This year, the biggest trend was the naked trend. If you aren’t already aware of this trend, it features looks where the wearing is essentially naked. This can be done using strategically placed pieces of fabric or a significant amount of skin-tone colored material. As you can probably guess, this is definitely not my favorite trend. Sure, these women look absolutely stunning and I am all for flaunting your confidence and your body. But at the same time, I can never see myself wearing this trend and have a hard time relating to it. The women who wore this at the VMA’s looked absolutely stunning, don’t get me wrong, but here I wanted to feature women who wore some different trends that I find a bit more relatable.

VMA's Red Carpet Anna Kendrick

Ok so first of all, Anna Kendrick is one of my favorite people. I think she is beautiful, incredibly talented and has an awesome sense of style. I love the combination of bold metallic with the feathers and then the girly touch of these bow stilettos. I love any red carpet look that is a little extra, but not too over done.

VMA's Red Carpet Blake Lively

If you didn’t already know, I’m obsessed with Blake Lively. She is one of my favorite celebrities and someone I always look for on the red carpet. I mean how could you not when she wears something like this? A white tuxedo dress…really? I mean who actually could pull this off? I would have thought no one, but of course Blake proved me wrong.

VMA's Red Carpet Millie Bobby Brown

My other newest red carpet obsession is Millie Bobby Brown. Sure, she is young, but she has a great sense of style that pushes boundaries, while still being age appropriate. I love the interesting cut-out detail with this look and how she kept it relatively simple. Also, kept up with the naked trend with these shoes.

Until next time…XO
