Hello all! I hope your labor day weekend is going well so far! Mine has been a fun mix of working, socializing, and cleaning my apartment. But, today, I have so much to share with you! First, a peak into my tiny but wonderful kitchen and then a new recipe that I perfected in said kitchen.
As you can see, my kitchen is not very big, but it is the perfect size for me. The counter space is limited, but I have a good amount of storage.
My favorite part is the glass cabinets. It is a perfect way to show off my dishes and also so I can into my pantry without searching too hard. I am hoping to have some more instagram vides of my cooking adventures soon so stay tuned for that! Enjoy your Labor Day and until later! XO
Hello all! Happy Saturday! As promised, I am going to talk about another part of my apartment today. This is arguably my favorite part of the apartment…my closet! Although it doesn’t look very big, my old closet you couldn’t walk in and I was definitely limited when it came to floor space and visibility. I am very much a visual person when it comes to my clothes, and if I don’t see something, I won’t wear it or think to pair it together. I love how in my new closet I can see all of my summer clothes, shoes, jewelry, and purses all at the same time!
Because I am a little limited when it comes to space, I needed to be organized about everything. So all of my winter stuff is in stored in my bedroom and all of my summer stuff is out. I then color coded everything. Sometimes you don’t realize that you have four pairs of nude shoes until they are all sitting right next to each other. Color coding your clothes is great for seeing what you have a lot of or not enough of and also seeing how different colors look together.
As you can see, my hangers are hanging in different directions. I read about this trick years ago and it is the best organizing tip! At the beginning of the season, turn all of your hangers in one direction. Then, every time you wear something, change the direction. At the end of the season, you can easily tell what clothes you haven’t worn and what you might need to purge. I don’t necessarily use this to purge my closet, but rather to help me be aware if I’m wearing something too often or maybe if I need to wear something more.
So, that is my closet! Sadly, I’m not going to be able to link everything, but if you want to know more about a certain piece, just email me or comment! More apartment reveals next Saturday and stay tuned for some fun outfits this week! Until next time, XO
Hello all, happy Saturday! Today is going to be the start of something new, a blog series about my apartment, decorating, living alone, and becoming part of a city. I am so excited about this series and to be able to share another side of my life with y’all!
As you might have seen on my instagram
or snapchat (tcurry16), the above is how my apartment started. Everything is looking much more put together now, I just have to decorate. The first room I finished was my bathroom. As you can see, it is a little small and I had to be creative with storage, but I am so happy with how it turned out.
For me, it is so important to be able to have clean counters in the bathroom. Having a bunch out, stresses me out and makes my mornings much more chaotic. Being able to hide everything in my drawers was vital. My drawers are definitely full, but it is manageable and the cute tray on top of my toilet was the perfect way to have my glasses and lipstick out without being in the way.
I also wanted my bathroom to inspire me. Like most people, I have struggled with insecurities about how I look and it is so easy to allow those to control you when you are getting ready in the morning. I have always loved my inspiration boards which are basically my real-life Pinterest boards. I love to make them and they always put a smile on my face. Having them in the bathroom perks me up in the morning and reminds me to be positive and love myself. Practice a little self-love today and hold your head high…you are fabulous. Until next time, XO
