I know stripes can be very intimidating for people. I always forget which one is supposed to make you look bigger. And can you wear them with other patterns? There are just lots of questions.

But I love stripes! So here is how I get away with wearing them! I’m not going to lie, the first thing I do is completely ignore the fact that I am wearing stripes. It just makes it easier and you don’t worry as much about the pattern. Normally I try and focus on colors working together instead of patterns.

When I do think about the stripes, I like thinner stripes. Thick stripes feel aggressive and bold to me and I normally don’t like them as much. I also like horizontal stripes unless it is pants. On pants or a skirt, I like vertical stripes more.

Stripes are also great for pattern mixing whether it be with more stripes, polka dots, or florals. My piece of advice would be to match your color palettes. If your colors look good together, than the patterns will work well together too! Until next time…
