Weekend To Do

Weekend To Do September 9th

Reading

This week, I have been reading The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray. It is about the female librarian of J.P. Morgan in the early 20th century. It has fictionalized elements, but is based on a real woman and her relationship with her employer, J.P. It is absolutely fascinating as it combines historical elements, descriptions of society, fashion, and illuminated manuscripts at the time. I am loving it so far and I can’t wait to post a full review later this month.

Listening

I love podcasts especially to get my news. Axios Today is one of my go-to on weekday mornings. It is normally pretty short (10-15 minutes) and gives a nice overview of the big news of the day. If you want a little news highlight in the morning, this is a great option!

Watching

We officially finished Stranger Things and absolutely loved it. But I wasn’t quite ready to dive into something new, so I am rewatching The Wire. It is one of my favorite shows and I highly recommend it if you haven’t seen it. Sure, the technology is extremely outdated and there are some moments that would not be allowed on TV today, but it is definitely worth a watch. HBO also has a corresponding podcast mini series for the 20th anniversary that I am going to listen to when I’m done with the show!

Have a great weekend and comment with what you are up to this weekend.
