True Crime Tuesday
My best friend and I started this tradition almost two years ago where we would hang out for an afternoon, order dinner, and watch true crime shows or documentaries. It was fun because we both love true crime, but I get nervous watching it alone. Plus, it is always more fun watching with a friend! We have continued this virtually during quarantine, which made me think about sharing some True Crime things with y’all! I’m going to start with some reviews of true crime books I have read and maybe, if you guys like this, we can do tv shows and/or movies and/or podcasts in the future! Comment below with your favorite true crime medium!
Bad Blood by John Carreyrou. I am sure many of you have heard of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos. Some of you might have listened to the podcast about her, The Dropout, or seen the documentary about Theranos, The Inventor on HBO. I have listened and watched both and last month finally got around to reading the book by the journalist who discovered and broke this news. Let me tell you, it is a wild ride no matter what medium you choose. I don’t want to say too much if you aren’t award of this, but trust me, learning about Elizabeth Holmes and her crazy story is worth every minute you spend. I loved the podcast and the documentary, but in this case, I would definitely recommend the book. There is obviously more information plus I found it fascinating hearing how John Carreyrou went about this process. If you’ve read it, what did you think?
