Lately I’ve been into statement pieces that are also neutrals. It is so much easier to wear them and mix them into your closet. I’ve never really been a huge fan of brown, but when it is mixed with other neutrals in a plaid, I love it.

I am home in North Carolina for the holidays and was really trying to limit the amount of things I packed. My secret plan is always to make sure everything I bring can be worn with multiple pieces…ie lots of neutral layers.

An easy way to sass up an outfit is bold lipstick and jewelry. Obviously these are two of my favorite things in any outfit and they have the added benefit of being very small and easy to pack!

I just added this cape to my wardrobe and I absolutely adore it. I picked it up at the Anthropologie sale this past weekend so it was on mega sale. It is not a sized piece which is nice and is going to make it super easy to layer over my chunky sweaters.

Did I mention that it has pockets? I love a dramatic moment and I don’t have as many chances to wear dramatic pieces as I would like so I’m so excited to add this dynamic piece that I can definitely wear to work into my wardrobe.
