Ringing in 2021
Hello and welcome to 2021! 2020 was definitely something else and I can easily say that I will not miss it. For all its downs, there were certainly some positives…I graduated from my Master’s program and moved into a fabulous new apartment and made some incredible new friends. But I definitely struggled to find motivation to work, blog, and progress in life. I am most definitely going to be working on that in 2021 but also being thankful for what I have, not taking anything for granted, and remembering to slow down every once in a while.
NYE is not necessarily my favorite holiday to celebrate, but it sure is my favorite holiday to dress for! Any excuse to dress up and wear sequins is always fun in my opinion. This year, I celebrated virtually as I’m sure y’all did as well, but I definitely made the most of it in terms of my sequins. As I was gathering my sequin options, I realized that I might have a slight problem. Y’all have seen most of my sequins but it is starting to get a little out of hand.
Between the two sequined skirts and the blazer, that would probably be enough sequined clothing for anyone. But of course, I can never stop there. Plus, they are a bit more difficult to incorporate into everyday life. However, sequined shoes are much much easier and have seamlessly become a part of my everyday rotation. But an all sequined outfit? That is reserved for my birthday and New Year’s Eve! So, here is to a sparkly year that is at least better than 2020! Until next time, Tay
P.S. Check out some of my favorite sequined looks over the years with a sweater, a blazer, a chambray, and NYE in general. Also, this floral dress will be on my depop soon so if you are interested, stay tuned!
