Quarantine Outfits
As I am sure we have all experienced, quarantine has brought all kinds of changes in our lives. One of the big ones being working from home. I don’t know about y’all but I have a lot of trouble working if I’m wearing pjs or sweatpants so it is vital that I get up and get dressed in the morning. But, sitting on the couch in AC all day versus commuting to an office and then sitting at a desk has added a whole new dimension to my outfits.
Three main things have changed for me. One, it is all about comfort. Before, t-shirt dresses were not really my cup of tea and I normally would go for something fitted over something flowing. Now though, anything that feels close to pajamas, or allows me to sit comfortably on my couch while working is key.
Second, since I am no longer commuting in the DC humidity, I am still wearing a lot of my more transitional layers from spring and fall like my sweater blazers. Plus, I have been wearing jeans a lot more than shorts just because I have more jeans, and it is nice to not freeze my butt off in the AC.
Finally, I have been getting very experimental with looks. This is one of those looks that I probably would not have left the house in before quarantine. But now, it is a fun, loud, unexpected outfit combination that brightens up my day. Moral of the story? Do what you want and wear what you want whether it is quarantine or not and remember that fashion is supposed to be fun and it is for you, not for anyone else.
Until next time, XO
