Little Free Libraries
I like to think that I have a very entrepreneurial spirit. This is super helpful in some ways because I love working, I work hard, and I will find a way to wiggle my way into a position. On the other hand, I have a really hard time having a hobby that is not profitable. My brain jumps straight to how can I make money from this.
My wonderful, sweet boyfriend is working very hard to help me remember to pause and breath and especially to remember that not everything needs to turn into a job.
My main hobby that has not been hijacked by my need to be productive is walking. I love walking and normally take at least a 30 minute walk everyday that I can. When I’m working from home (which is most days), normally my walk is just around the neighborhood or over to my Starbucks that is a convenient 12 minute walk away!
But lately, I have been stopping by at the two Little Free Libraries that are close to my house!
For those of you who don’t know, Little Free Library is a non-profit organization working to make books more accessible to all. You have probably seen one in your neighborhood or around town. Basically the idea is that you leave a book and take a book. I cheat a little because I leave normally one or two books and try not to take any.
This has been amazing because for once I have actually been able to get rid of some books (not my forte). I have also felt very good about because every time I go back, my previous additions have already been taken by someone! Even if I’m not going to read the book again, doesn’t mean someone else can’t!
