High Ponytails and Jean Jackets
As much as I complain about the weather this time of year, it is actually my favorite time fashion wise. Sure, it is a pain in the butt to never know what to expect when you walk out the door, but it allows me to get really creative with all of my outfits.
I’ve never had a closet big enough to be able to hold both my winter and summer clothes, so normally one is packed away under my bed. This time of year though, I start to unpack my summer clothes and decide what of my winter clothes I need to purge before next year.
The part of me that loves to organize loves this whole process. But, it also let’s me really explore the pieces in my closet and get creative. What I mean by that is that when I start to unpack my summer clothes, that is all I want to wear. I am sick and tired of my winter clothes and excited to re-discover pieces.
But at the same time, it is still cold or at least cooler so I can’t wear a completely summer outfit. So I’m forced to combine pieces from my summer wardrobe with my winter wardrobe. This always leads to some of my most interesting outfit combinations.
Take this skirt, I normally have worn it in the summer because it is so light-weight. Granted, I was freezing in the morning when I took these pictures, but during the day, with a turtleneck and my jean jacket, I was wearing the perfect amount of layers! Way more fun combinations to come over the next few weeks as I am obsessed with my summer clothes! Until next time…
