As some of you may know, I am a huge sports fan, specifically football and as of this summer, hockey. With not much change from day to day, sports games have been a nice way to break up the monotony. I not only enjoy watching games, but I am also rather spirited and I like to reflect that in my outfit. But at the same time, I am not really a jersey person. I still like to be my typical, fashionable self, but still be spirited so here are some ideas on how to accomplish being a Fashionable Fan.

1. It is vital to wear the team you are cheering for colors and not the opposing team. With hockey, my team is the Tampa Bay Lightning whose colors are black, blue, and silver, making it pretty easy to use my existing wardrobe. However, if it was some color like orange that I didn’t wear at all, I would aim to be neutral and closer to orange then whatever the opposing team was.
2. Once you have established your color palette, the rest is relatively easy. But, remember to be comfortable and casual. Ripped jeans, sneakers, and a flannel are great options by themselves or over a tee…you are spirited, ready to sit on the couch for multiple hours, and your flannel serves as a sweater if you get cold. Also, if you will notice, my flannel has my team colors so I am spirited even without my lightening tee. Your flannel and your sneakers are also a great way to show off your personal style and personality…peep the pink heels on my sneakers.
3. If you are like me and don’t like jerseys, there are normally tons of fun t-shirt options online or somewhere like fanatics.com. I normally go for a short-sleeved, unisex tee, that is super simple. I don’t want it to be aggressively form fitting, short-sleeved makes it appropriate for any season, and I’m not a huge fan of tons of words because that makes it harder to match.
4. I love mixing up outfits with some crazy jewelry and an otherwise casual outfit. I’ve done it a million times and it is definitely a go-to for me. If that isn’t your vibe, this kind of look is perfect for simple, layered jewelry. This has definitely been my go-to during quarantine and my Rocksbox every month is normally my only clothing purchase as shopping is definitely not happening.
