Book Review: The Night Swim
One of the positives on being in quarantine for the better part of the year is that I have actually had time to start reading again! I love reading all kinds of books and I am even in three different book clubs because I love talking about books so much. So, I thought I would share some of the books I’m reading with y’all more regularly. I have linked the book through Amazon, but I highly recommend looking at your local bookstore or library first especially now when so many small businesses need our help. I know at least in my area, my local bookshops have started taking online orders!
For our first book review, I am talking about The Night Swim by Megan Goldin. This was a Book of the Month book a while ago and I read it with my friend in our true crime bookclub. This book is definitely fiction but still has that true crime vibe as it is a crime book and the main character has a true crime podcast!
As a caveat, I don’t read a lot of fiction as I normally prefer non-fiction, but I really enjoyed this one. It definitely was a little predictable towards the end but it was still fun and I enjoyed reading it. The book is also divided in a very cool way between the main character’s POV, her podcast episodes, and then flashback chapters. This is definitely book for you if you like investigative stories and multiple story lines. There are definitely some trigger warnings that come with this book though so make sure to look up those before reading. Otherwise, I’d give this 4 out of 5 stars.
Reading anything fun? I’d love to hear what you are reading or ideas for what to read next!
XO, Tay
