Quarantine Distractions #1

Hello everyone! It feels like I haven’t been on here in forever (which is true) but quarantine seems like the perfect excuse to try and get back in the swing of blogging regularly.

While I’m not exactly experimenting with fun outfits or going on fun adventures, quarantine has given me the opportunity to do some things on my ever growing want-to-do list.

I don’t want this to come off as ignoring or down-playing the seriousness of our situation right now. But everything we hear about these days is so heavy and scary that sometimes it is nice to have a little break. Consider this your break and please comment with your own want-to-do lists so I can try them!

XO, T

What I’m reading… You Never Forget Your First by Alexis Coe

I just finished this new book by Alexis Coe. It is the first biography of George Washington written by a woman and is a very digestible 200 some pages. She is snarky and crazy interesting and I can’t recommend this enough.

What I’m listening to…1865 Podcast

As y’all know, I am obsessed with podcasts. This one is a dramatic historical podcast about 1865 (the year Lincoln was assassinated) looking at Edwin Stanton (Lincoln’s Secretary of War). It is fascinating and very well done, but make sure to listen to the Inside the episode editions so you can find out what has been dramatized and what is straight from letters etc.

What I’m listening to…King Princess

My sister introduced me to King Princess almost two years ago and I love her vibe. Check out Talia, 1950, and If you Think It’s Love.

What I’m Watching… Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist

This show is so cute and such a fun concept. While there are definitely some sad moments, most of the episodes are fun and light and filled with fabulous music. Don’t let the first episode deter you!

What I’m Doing…US Census

If you live in the US, you should fill out the Census! It is so important and will only take 5 minutes.

That’s all for today, but I’ll be back with more things to do soon!
