SAG Red Carpet

This is one of my favorite times of the year because there are so many fashion related events going on. It is currently fashion week in Paris and I have loved seeing the runways! Hopefully one day I’ll be able to go to my own fashion week. In addition to fashion week, there are also loads of award shows which means lots of red carpets. Most recently, were the SAG awards and I absolutely adored some of the looks! Here are my favorites…what looks did you like the most?

Critics Choice Awards

Hello all! A little behind at the moment because I took the weekend off. It was crazy busy and when I was home from work, I needed a bit of a relax, reset. Anyways, we are back! If you missed it last week, there was another fabulous red carpet at the Critics’ Choice Awards. I don’t think I’ve ever said this, but it was nice to see a little color after the all black red carpet last weekend. Here are my favorite looks…let me know what you think about these and if you had any other favorite looks!

Alison Brie always looks fabulous in my opinion, but I like that she went simple and natural. It really let her innate beauty shine through and she looked incredible.

And Angelina Jolie is back! Looking like the flawless, never aging ice queen that she is. I love the intense feather detail paired with the bright red lips.

White seemed to be the theme for this award show. I love the flowing Grecian nature of this. It is so simple but so flattering and well.

We all know how much I love some tulle and this is how you rock tulle on a red carpet. Simple and ballerina-esque without over doing your make-up, hair or jewelry. A plus for me! Until next time…

The Time’s Up Red Carpet

If you didn’t already know, the black dress is classic for a reason and last night’s Golden Globes Red Carpet proved it. Almost everyone wore black in support of the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund. For those of you who don’t know, Time’s Up, started by some of our favorite Hollywood stars, will help to pay for legal support to women and men who have experienced sexual assault, harassment, or abuse in the work place. This is an incredible fund and I was so excited to see so many people supporting it last night.

Now, on to the fashion. Let’s be honest, if I were to ever be on the red carpet, I would most likely wear black so a lot of the looks last night appealed to me. Here are some of my favorite looks from the red carpet. Which one do y’all like the most?

AMA’s Red Carpet

As y’all probably know, the AMAs were on Sunday and there was a fabulous red carpet. Out of all of the looks though, there were three that really stood out to me.

First of all, was Hailee Steinfeld. This look is a little daring for me, but she looked fabulous. I love when women are daring enough to wear pants on the red carpet plus I love her super structured jacket. Also, can I have her abs? K thanks!
Kelly Clarkson and I typically have very different style choices. However, I absolutely adore this custom Christian Siriano dress. I love the combination of the sequins and the velvet. A perfect look for a winter red carpet.
Ok so can Selena Gomez ever look bad? I really don’t think she can. All of the sudden she is a blonde and she is wearing a leather jacket mini dress and looks absolutely fabulous. I am in awe. Kudos to her for always killing it.
Until next time,

Best Dress on the 2017 Emmy’s Red Carpet

The red carpet is my favorite part of any award show and the Emmy’s on Sunday definitely didn’t disappoint. Claire Foy from The Crown, above, stole the show for me. I love that she took the risk of wearing a jumpsuit but made it feel like old Hollywood glamour with red lips and finger waves. This is something I can see myself wearing if I ever went on a red carpet.
Emmy Rossum is always someone I watch on the red carpet. She always wears beautiful gowns and keeps it classic and stunning. I love the sparkle on this black dress and how she paired the bright emeralds with it.
There were a lot of silver, shimmery dresses this year, but I think Jessica Biel’s was the best. This look is the contemporary version of old Hollywood glamour and she looked like a princess. I love the draping overlay so the dress isn’t just silver shimmers.
Honestly though, does Michelle Pfeiffer age? She looks absolutely incredible! I love that this dress is the none-scandalous version of the naked trend and the lack of jewelry really highlights the beauty of the dress. I hope I can be this sophisticated when I am her age.
I think I liked this red carpet so much because a big trend was old Hollywood with a modern twist. Nicole Kidman looked incredible in this dress and I love that she wore bright pink shoes with it…the perfect twist on a classic red gown.
First of all, let’s all acknowledge that Shailene Woodley looks incredible. This dress is a little revealing for my taste but I love the simple silhouette and green velvet! Velvet is one of my favorite materials and I will definitely be looking for a velvet dress for my next cocktail party!
Who won your vote for best dressed? Any one that I missed that you loved? Until next time, XO

The First Monday in May

Last night was the Met Gala, which is by far my favorite event of the year because it combines my two passions: fashion and art. As always there were some incredible outfits last night. Here are my favorite looks and some people who I thought looked incredible! Make sure to leave your 2 cents below in the comments too!
As if she need any help looking taller, Karlie Kloss had legs for days with this tuxedo jacket dress and stilettos. One of the simpler looks from last night, but right on the money. Also, loving this new, angular bob she premiered! It almost makes me want to cut my hair short again!
With an amazing mix of stark black and girly pink, Lily Collins was one of the few who was able to channel Rei Kawakubo and Comme des Garçons while also making it her own. As always, I love the idea of hardening up pink tulle (or anything girly). The stark black bob and dark lipstick were the perfect finishing touches to this look.
Hailey Baldwin is not someone I typically follow or feature on my best dressed lists. However, last night she looked stunning and channeled the architectural and textured look of Comme des Garçons to a tee. The harshly cut layers of tulle looked perfect paired with this bustier and I love the feminine accessories.
Gigi Hadid recently came on my radar and I was dying to see what she would wear last night and she did not disappoint. I loved all of the juxtapositions in this look- from the metallic against the matte tulle to the architectural bodice against the flowing train. Plus, who doesn’t love a good strong cat eye?! By far my favorite look of the night.
First, let me say that I love Blake Lively and in my book, she can do no wrong. With that said, I think the top half of this dress is weird, but I absolutely adore the bottom. How it transitions from nude to bright blue and metal to feathers is so interesting and visually pleasing. This was one of the looks that I kept coming back to as I was reviewing the red carpet looks. What do y’all think?
If you didn’t know this about me, I love Anna Wintour and after last night, I love her even more. She wore my two favorite things, sequins and feathers and still managed to look classy and elegant. Thank you for always being an incredible style icon!
So I saved one of the best for last. Allison Williams always looks amazing and last night she modernized this classic Hollywood glamour look with this architectural dress. I absolutely loved it!
I’m going to leave you with one last thought from Rei Kawakubo…”I make clothes for a woman who is not swayed by what her husband thinks.” Today go out and wear what you want to wear without thought of what others think and be completely yourself! Until next time, XO

Oscar’s 2017 Red Carpet…My favorites

I think we can all agree that the Oscar’s last Sunday were dramatic enough for all of us, but, the red carpet was awesome! There were so many looks I loved, here are my favorites and I even included some men this time!
2017, red carpet, Oscars,
Andrew Garfield looked so sharp in this classic tuxedo. I loved the little details from his cuffs and his shoes, but the otherwise simple assemble.
2017, red carpet, Oscars,
Another tuxedo I loved was Dev Patel’s. There is something so Bond-like about a white tuxedo jacket. Everything about it screams dapper.
2017, red carpet, Oscars,
Emma Stone looked stunning as always in this gold number. I love the mix of embroidery and tassel and flapper-esque bottom is so unexpectedly cool! The minimal jewelry was the perfect choice with a dress like this and the soft waves in her hair added a hint of old Hollywood glamour.
2017, red carpet, Oscars,

2017, red carpet, Oscars,

Ruth Negga and Ginnifer Goodwin both went with red lacy numbers that I adore! I love the tiered details of Ginnifer Goodwin’s and I loved the flowing nature of Ruth Negga’s. Both women looked stunning and make me want to go buy a red dress!
2017, red carpet, Oscars,
Jessica Biel was another actress who chose gold and sparkly for the red carpet. I love the long-sleeved column dress with the distressing throughout. It is such a simple, classic silhouette with modern details to make it pop. I also love how she paired this giant statement necklace with it. Goes to show that statement necklaces can still go with statement gowns. Also, the play of textures between the sequins and the feathers is intriguing and such a fun way to mix up the typical red carpet look.
2017, red carpet, Oscars,
We are going to end on my favorite look, Taraji P. Henson. First of all, she looks absolutely stunning. The cut of the dress is perfect for her and I love the off-the-shoulder look with a bold necklace. This dress is my favorite look though because it is navy velvet. It is such an unexpected color/ material combination and it is flawless. My next ballgown is definitely going to be navy velvet! Until next time, XO

SAG Awards Red Carpet

Hello all! Another award show, another red carpet and last night at the SAG Awards was no exception! There were some really interesting looks and here are my favorites!
Earlier this month, Evan Rachel Wood said she was only going to wear suits this year on the red carpet and if she keeps wearing ones like this, I can’t wait! She looks incredible in a suit and they are always tailored to a T. I love this blue velvet look too!

Kirsten Dunst has never really been on my radar, but I love this simple silhouette and layered necklace. This is also an outfit that I can see myself wearing if I was ever on the red carpet.

I am so glad that Michelle Dockery is back on the red carpet. She is always one of my favorite people to watch. I love this look because it is simple silhouette, but the colors are so bold, especially for the red carpet when people normally stick to blue, red, and neutrals. Also, great choice by her to keep her hair and jewelry simple.

Taraji P. Henson stole the show last night if you ask me. Her acceptance speech was emotional and poignant and she looked incredible. Although this dress is a little revealing for my taste, it does an excellent job of juxtaposing a girly princess with a more scandalous look. Not something I would wear, but that does not mean it is not an incredibly beautiful dress.

I adore Viola Davis and she looked stunning. Sometimes a simple dress is the answer, especially when it is cut right. This is the perfect example. Viola didn’t need to do anything else to look flawless. This is what a classy red carpet look is all about.
Well, those are my favorites! What did you guys think? Any thoughts? Until next time, XO!

Golden Globes 2017 Red Carpet

Finally! A Red Carpet I can get behind! I have been struggling with red carpets so much lately because I have not been a fan of many of the dresses. However, at the Golden Globes last night, everyone really pulled out the stops and I had a hard time narrowing it down to these seven looks. Congratulations to everyone who was nominated last night and everyone really did look fabulous on the red carpet. Here are my favorite looks. I would love to hear if y’all have any additions to the list! XO

red carpet, golden globes, claire foy, sparkles
This is Claire Foy. You might not know here because she is new to the scene, but she stars in The Crown on Netflix and is amazing. I LOVE this dress. It is sparkly and pale pink and just the right amount of revealing. Such a classy and glamorous look for the red carpet, I can’t say enough good things! I also love how she didn’t over do it with hair, jewelry, or makeup. Sometimes with a dress like this, you need to let the dress speak for itself and Claire did just that.
red carpet, golden globes, gwendoline christie
Gwendoline Christie looked like a peach colored Grecian goddess in this dress. I love the matching earrings, over the shoulder train, and pointy-toe heels. Also, rocking the power pose! This is how you do red carpet elegance.
red carpet, golden globes, hailee steinfeld
These sheer tulle dresses have been in style for a while now and I am not always a fan, but I love the purple color of Hailee Steinfeld’s gown and I love how the sleeves come off the shoulders and then connect right above the elbow. That is such a unique style which paired very well with the modern princess vibe this dress has going on. Also, the choker necklace and ring combination was the perfect pairing for this otherwise sparkle-less outfit.
red carpet, golden globes, kristen bell
I’m not going to lie, I went back and forth on this dress for a while. I love the black sequins and the combination of a deep neckline and long sleeves, but the neckline is a little revealing for me and the bottom corners of it feel awkward. Obviously, I decided I like it in the end because a unique neckline is always interesting and I think Kristen Bell pulled it off so well.
red carpet, golden globes, lily collins
Now this is a modern princess gown with the up-do, red lips, and full skirt to accompany it. I obviously love the color, but I think what really makes this dress is the embroidery. The detail is so exquisite and gives the dress an old world feel, while the bodice and color make it more modern. This might have been my favorite look of the night. Love, love love!
red carpet, golden globes, Natalie Portman
No wonder Natalie Portman was cast as Jackie O. Even pregnant and decades later, Natalie perfectly emulated Jackie last night in this yellow gown. Great work by Natalie and her team because now I want to see the new Jackie O movie even more! But really, Natalie looked incredible and I love the throwback nod to Jackie and her incredible style.
red carpet, golden globes, Ruth Negga
Well, we started with sparkles and it should come as a surprise to no one that we are ending with sparkles. Ruth Negga looked like an awesome, sparkly knight or something last night. I love the zipper and the embroidery detail on the top that is almost reminiscent of a Klimt painting. If you were wondering how to make a statement on the red carpet, this is how you do it. Absolutely stunning.
