Flannel and Sparkles

One of the hardest things about having a fashion blog is dealing with winter. First of all your time to take photos is seriously affected by light. During the summer, I normally take pictures after work and it is not a problem at all. In the winter though, I have to set out specific time early in the morning or on the weekend so there is enough light.

Wool and Pearls

As much as I love layering, there are some pitfalls that I like to avoid. The first one is that I don’t want to look like the Michelin man and not be able to move my arms. The other one is that I still want to feel cute and feminine, while also staying warm. With a wool mini-skirt and a thick but girly sweater are the perfect way to avoid these issues.

Over the Knee Boots

Hello all! Happy 2017! I hope you had a fun and exciting New Year’s Eve. For our first post of 2017, let’s talk about over the knee boots. They have been pretty popular for a while now and you probably noticed that they were never featured here. I have been debating getting these boots, but I was hesitant. Over the knee boots are so outside of my comfort zone. I was not really comfortable with the idea because I didn’t know how I would wear them, and as someone who has always been a little insecure about my body, the thought of wearing boots that had to fit my foot, lower leg, and thigh, seemed a little daunting to say the least. But, the fashion universe had some other ideas, as it normally does. My mom got me this pair for Christmas and to be honest, I’ve already worn them three times and I absolutely adore them. They are so comfortable to wear and are an interesting detail for my outfit. I can’t wait to find more ways to wear them and I’d love to hear your thoughts! XO

I am not normally a fan of overly matching my outfit, However, when one component is patterned and pulls in other colors, the matching is actually beneficial instead of boring. Another important thing to do when wearing a lot of the same color is to pull in other colors, like my black belt and vest and my pink purse in this case. This creates some variety and makes the matching colors work together as a base color against your accents.
On a completely other note, my current addiction and winter essential is my yeti. I got one for graduation and didn’t really know if I would ever use it. However, now that I commute for almost an hour every morning, my yeti is perfect for keeping my tea warm! I make my tea before I leave home in the morning and an hour later when I get to work, it is still boiling. I have been so impressed with the yeti and would definitely recommend one if you drink coffee or tea! XO
